Summary of Position and Key Responsibilities
The Faculty Administration Manager provides administrative management of the School across the range of all areas including UG/PG, Teaching and Research. The Faculty Administration Manager supports the development and delivery of the School Strategic Plan, and co-ordinates Schools’ initiatives and activities. The Faculty Administration Manager works closely with the Dean, Associate Deans, Heads of Department and Course Leaders. The Faculty Administration Manager also plays a key role in representing the School within the University. The Faculty Administration Manager will be a member of the Faculty Management Team and will take a specific interest in the development of the Student Exchange process.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- To engage in the development of Faculty Strategic Plans and be responsible for the monitoring of the actions to the plan.
- To develop, implement and monitor Faculty administrative processes and procedures, in consultation with the universities departments. This includes both Academic and related areas as well as business support functions such as staff analysis and planning.
- To manage faculty-level administration including coordinating the work of the Faculty Administrative Support Team, with direct line-management responsibility for members of the Administrative Team.
- To be a member of the Faculty Management Team engaged in policy and procedure development for all areas of the faculty.
- To ensure the development of student facing services at all levels and be responsible for those services that provide administrative support.
- To ensure the development of the support for QA processes across all levels including handling initial student assessment processes.
- To develop and monitor systems for academic staff management processes such as workload management, staff appointments, review and associated processes.
- To develop systems and procedures for the development and monitoring of research and related activities.
- To work with the departments of the University to ensure that faculty are represented in the development of Institutional Policies and that the Faculty complies with such Institutional Policies.
- To be responsible for the Faculty retention policy and that this follows the Universities policies and practices.
- To support and advise Heads of Departments and Course Leaders on matters relating to all aspects of the operation of courses, and their relationship with the Faculty and the wider University, based on a clear understanding of administration within the Faculty.
- To help co-ordinate faculty-level projects; to consult on issues arising within the faculty; and to represent the faculty within the University, in particular in relation to the International Student Exchange initiatives.
- To support excellent communication within the Faculty including communicating Faculty and University priorities and activities; and listening to and representing faculty issues.
- To undertake any other duties as required by the Dean of School and/or the 1st Deputy Rector (Academic).
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree, preferably a Master degree
- English language proficiency to a level equivalent of an Academic member of staff
- Knowledge of Uzbek and Russian

- Experience of Student or Customer facing functions
- Evidence of work experience in administrative positions
- Experience of working with people and dealing with their needs
- Experience of a higher education institution or similar organization
