As part of EY’s Finance Transformation Office, we are launching a process‑improvement program to strengthen the foundation of our Kazakhstan Finance operations. To support this effort, we are hiring an Experienced Accountant who will focus on: improving processes, resolving historical issues, enhancing controls, and supporting the existing team.
Aim of the Role:
Our objective is to support and empower the current Finance team by bringing in expert capability to:
- Stabilize processes
- Resolve longstanding structural issues
- Reduce workload pressure
- Strengthen reporting accuracy
- Enable the team to operate more efficiently
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a detailed review of all current accounting processes
- Improve documentation, build SOPs, and define clear ownership within the team
- Conduct full balance sheet reconciliations and correct historical inconsistencies
- Identify gaps, define solutions, and implement improved workflows
- Establish controlled, timely month-end and year-end closing cycles
- Partner closely with the current team to share knowledge and build sustainable practices
- Coordinate with external/internal auditors
- Support and mentor existing staff
Requirements:
- 7+ years of strong accounting experience (IFRS + local GAAP)
- Proven experience in resolving complex accounting issues
- Strong analytical and process-design skills
- Leadership maturity and ability to guide others
- Experience in transformation/improvement projects is an advantage
- Strong ability to diagnose, correct, and rebuild processes
- Excellent communication and coaching skills
- Fluency in Russian; English preferred
