Deputy Chief Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

We’re looking for an experienced Deputy Chief Accountant, who can lead financial and statutory accounting in a multi-client environment - ranging from startups to established businesses. This role is ideal for professionals with strong accounting and statutory expertise, and the potential to grow into a Chief Accountant position in the near future.​​​​​​

• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on accounting and tax matters, providing recommendations tailored to their business models and industry specifics

• Support and co-lead the onboarding of new clients, including assessing accounting needs, configuring systems, migrating data, and ensuring a smooth transition

• Co-lead full-cycle financial and statutory accounting for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of accounting and tax policies, internal controls, and process documentation under the supervision of the Director.

• Apply accounting standards and provide initial professional judgments in the preparation and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and client-specific reporting solutions

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of tax, statutory, and statistical reporting in compliance with Kazakhstan legislation and IFRS standards

• Support the preparation of regular management and financial reports, highlighting key observations

• Represent clients in interactions with tax authorities and other external stakeholders

• Support clients during external audits, including preparation of documentation and explanation of accounting positions

• Support junior accountants and client-side finance teams; provide trainings to ensure process alignment and skills development

• Operate across multiple accounting systems, with a strong emphasis on 1C

• Maintain effective client communication and support long-term partnerships

• Contribute to internal process improvements and knowledge sharing within the team

Requirements:

• Higher education in accounting, finance, or economics

• Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years as a Deputy Chief Accountant or in a senior accounting role

• Experience across multiple industries - particularly in agriculture, manufacturing, and retail - is preferred

• Experience in consulting or outsourced accounting services is an advantage

• Good knowledge of Kazakhstan tax legislation and IFRS principles

• Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent), completed or in progress, is an advantage

• Proficient in 1C; knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) is desirable
