Legal Advisor for Debt Recovery Department

About Us: Citifuel LLC (offices in Uzbekistan and the USA), a company providing discount fuel cards in the USA. We are seeking for a Legal Advisor for Debt Recovery Department.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the legal strategy and daily operations of debt recovery and collection efforts.
• Draft, review, and manage demand letters, default notices, settlement agreements, and other legal documents.
• Prepare and file lawsuits, motions, and court pleadings in coordination with external counsel.
• Coordinate with external law firms and collection agencies; monitor their performance, cost, and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state debt collection laws (e.g., FDCPA, FCRA, state-level regulations).
• Monitor changes in legislation, case law, and regulatory trends relevant to debt collection and consumer reporting.
• Provide legal risk assessments and guidance in structuring collection strategies or settlement offers.
• Manage and respond to consumer disputes or complaints in line with regulatory timelines and processes.
• Support internal teams (operations, customer service, finance) by providing legal training, guidelines, and frameworks.
• Maintain accurate legal and case records, track legal costs, and provide metrics and reporting to senior management.
  
  Additional requirements:
• Experience working with collection agencies, external counsel, and managing litigation workflows.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication skills—able to explain complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
