Accountant
This position provides critical accounting support for a logistics and freight forwarding company, ensuring timely posting of bills, accurate payables management, and compliance with Kazakhstan labor, employee, and government taxation laws. The role ensures smooth operational processes, maintains precise financial records, supports statutory reporting, and manages bookkeeping and ledger entries.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Billing
- Posting bills in accordance with SOPs.
- Maintaining timely and accurate vendor reconciliations.
- Handling vendor disputes and communicating regarding overdue invoices.
- Assessing payable and initiating appropriate follow-ups.
- Ensuring monthly job closings and supporting month-end processes.
- Timely issuance and confirmation of electronic documents on the state portal.
- Performing any tasks assigned by Management / Finance Manager / Team Lead.
Bookkeeping & Ledger Management
- Maintain accurate general ledger and subsidiary ledger accounts.
- Record all financial transactions, including invoices, payments, accruals, and adjustments.
- Reconcile ledger accounts regularly and ensure accuracy of all postings.
- Ensure that all accounting records comply with internal policies, SOPs, and Kazakhstan regulatory requirements.
Employee Taxation, Government Tax & Labor Law Compliance
- Prepare, calculate, and submit employee payroll taxes, social contributions, and other statutory deductions in accordance with Kazakhstan law.
- Ensure compliance with Kazakhstan Labor Law, including employment contracts, leave, and reporting requirements.
- Prepare and submit government tax reports (quarterly and annual) including VAT, corporate income tax, and other statutory obligations.
- Advise management and internal teams on taxation, labor law, and regulatory matters affecting the organization.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in Kazakhstan labor, employee taxation, and government tax legislation and implement required updates.
Internal Coordination
- Ensuring timely flow of important information within the team.
- Coordinating professionally with internal stakeholders such as Sales and Operations teams.
External Interaction
- Communicating professionally with customers and vendors regarding receivables, payables, and clarifications.
Skills & Knowledge
- Knowledge of Kazakhstan Labor Law and employee taxation.
- Knowledge of government taxes (VAT, corporate income tax, etc.) and compliance reporting.
- Familiarity with customer contracts and agreements.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and Accounting Software
- Experience with monthly financial closing activities and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Business Administration (Essential)
- Certified Management Accountant (Desirable)
- ACCA (Desirable, international recognition)
- Professional Accountant RK / local equivalent (Highly desirable)
