Responsibilities:
The Deputy Team Leader supports the Team Leader in all management tasks and acts as the in-country lead when the Team Leader is on mission or absent. This role involves the following:
- day-to-day coordination with the PCU and suvtaminots, facilitating communication in local language, and ensuring that decisions and instructions from the Team Leader are implemented on the ground;
- assume the full responsibilities of the Team Leader in their absence;
- manages the administrative aspects of the PMC office, including logistics for expert field visits, local stakeholder meetings, and information flow between provincial technicians and the central team;
- directly supervise all national experts and administrative staff, managing their work assignments and performance;
- act as the primary facilitator for communication between the international experts, the PCU;
- assist in compiling progress reports, maintain the project schedule updates, and help monitor contractors’ field activities (through regular check-ins with the provincial supervision technicians).
Qualifications: - Master’s degree in engineering related to water supply and sanitation, information technology (IT) or related fields;
- Five years' experience in a Deputy Team Leader or Deputy Project Manager position would be preferable;
- Ideally, at least 10 years' experience in implementing or operating Smart Water-related IT systems;
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience of MDB-funded projects (e.g. those financed by the ADB, AIIB, AFD, EBRD or World Bank).
