QA Automation Engineer (Python)

Andersen, an international IT company, invites a QA Automation Engineer (Python) in the EU for an intergovernmental organization supporting research networks.

The customer is an intergovernmental organization that funds collaborative research and innovation networks. It focuses on connecting researchers across disciplines, supporting knowledge exchange through conferences, workshops, and training, and promoting openness, inclusivity, and the development of young talent.

The project is to provide networking opportunities for researchers and innovators in order to strengthen Europe’s capacity to address scientific, technological and societal challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Being part of a development team committed to deliver high value software.
• Ensuring the quality of software development and deployment.
• Managing the quality assurance of new projects as well as existing software (bugs, patches).
• Defining test deliverables for the different products based on software requirements and technical specifications.
• Create and conducting automated and manual tests to ensure the software is fit for purpose.
• Generating and managing historical analysis and traceability of test results and defects by documenting anomalies and issues in a TMS.
• Operating and maintaining test environments.
• Promoting test automation by developing and maintaining automated test scripts and their environments.
• Promoting Shift-Left Testing by Test Automation and Manual Testing.
• Organizing and supporting UAT (User Acceptance Test) phases during projects.
• Contributing to software documentation and instructions for end users.
• Ensuring compliance with general programming best practices.
• Fulfilling other responsibilities and tasks in the interest of the organization, as mandated by the Head of Information Systems or by the Association Director.

Must-haves:

• Professional experience in QA Automation (Python) for 2+ years.
• Experience in an academic or not-for-profit environment.
• Experience in test scripts, test automation.
• Experience of web stack and SQL databases.
• Experience working with development environment and related configuration management (Git on Bitbucket, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jira).
• Ability to work under pressure and with flexibility (peak periods in test activity before releases).
• Ability to obtain resolution by team consensus when differences in business processes are discussed.
• Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.

Nice-to-haves:

• Master’s degree in computer science or similar.
• Experience working on projects with PHP, MySQL.
• Solid understanding of testing processes, supported by an ISTQB certification (Advanced Level is a plus).
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of PyTest and Playwright.
