Position Summary – Senior Associate independently handles complex legal matters, supervises junior lawyers, manages client relationships, and contributes to strategic legal planning and firm development.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the tasks and projects of junior associate(s) and provide assistance if necessary
- Leads important projects from start to finish, ensuring timely and accurate execution and quality of the deliverable
- Drafts, reviews, and negotiates contracts, legal opinions, legal memorandums, case briefs, submissions, and other legal documents
- Provides high-quality legal advice and support to clients on complex matters within the relevant practice area(s)
- Manage multiple client matters simultaneously, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and adherence to deadlines
- Manages client communication and quality control
- Assists in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities with existing or potential clients
- Carries out full time legal practice
- Guides and mentors junior associates and trainees, providing feedback and oversight
- Delegates tasks effectively while ensuring quality and consistency of output
- Contributes to the firm’s knowledge management and training initiatives
- Invests time in professional self-development (continues learning, languages, skills, etc.)
- Stays updated on legal developments and proactively advises clients and colleagues on risks and regulatory changes
- Tracks time accurately and manages billing in accordance with client expectations and firm policies
Requirements: - Master/LLM degree in Law
- Admission to the bar in Uzbekistan
- At least 6 years of legal practice
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Uzbek and Russian languages
- Proven expertise in one or more core practice areas (e.g., corporate law, M&A, banking and finance, dispute resolution, real estate and construction, etc.)
- Ability to manage complex legal matters independently and provide strategic legal advice to clients
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships (experience in managing client communications and expectations)
- Ability to identify new business opportunities and support business development efforts
- Capable of mentoring junior lawyers and managing small teams
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style
- High ethical standards and integrity
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple deadlines
- Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
