Internal Auditor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Internal Auditor to join our car dealership group. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of U.S. financial regulations and dealership operations. You will be responsible for independently evaluating the company’s internal controls, financial reporting systems, and operational procedures to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct internal audits across departments (sales, service, parts, F&I, and accounting).
• Evaluate compliance with GAAP, company policies, and industry regulations.
• Perform risk assessments and develop audit plans accordingly.
• Review dealership financial statements, general ledger, and payroll records for accuracy.
• Identify areas of financial or operational risk and recommend corrective actions.
• Test and improve internal control systems.
• Prepare clear and actionable audit reports for senior management.
• Monitor implementation of audit recommendations.
• Support external audit processes when necessary.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of internal auditing experience in the U.S. market, ideally within automotive dealerships or similar industries.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and risk management.
• Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, etc.) is a strong plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/audit software.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and maintain objectivity.

Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA, CIA, or CISA certification (preferred but not required).
• Experience in multi-location or group dealerships.
• Familiarity with state and federal automotive compliance standards (FTC, IRS, DMV, etc.).
