Python Team Lead

FIN.by is IT outsourcing company that provides unique solutions in data analytics using Power BI and DWH, web-application development using Java, .NET, Python, JS, Salesforce, develops RPA bots on the WorkFusion platform using AI / ML to perform various operations, e.g.: processing large data sets, interactions between digital systems etc. The company is an HTP resident with head office in Minsk.

About the Project and the Role

An ambitious project aiming to reach 1 billion users and become better than Duolingo through an AI-driven revolutionary approach to language learning.

Python Team Lead is a key position in the product team, leading the backend development of the platform and responsible for the technical evolution of the product. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and performant. You will work directly with the founders of a product company from Singapore and the USA, who have a proven track record of building and scaling companies, including a previous exit valued at over $80 million.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable architecture for platform backend services
• Technical leadership of the team (expected to grow based on product development pace)
• Code review, mentoring, and development of team members
• Participate in shaping the technical product strategy together with the Product Owner
• Develop server-side logic for mobile applications using Python and related technologies.
• Writing code that is readable, reusable, testable, and efficient.
• Design and implementation of data storage solutions.
• Performance optimization, enhancement, balancing, usability, and automation.
• Implementation of security and data protection measures.
• Collaboration with other team members to fulfill the system business requirements.

Requirements Must-have:

• 5+ years of commercial experience as a Python back-end developer
• 2+ years of experience as Team Lead/Tech Lead
• Proficiency in Python and related technologies, including Python async programming.
• Working experience with web frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
• Hands-on experience with SQL database access and management.
• Relevant experience in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Good understanding of RESTful APIs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience in EdTech or related fields
• Knowledge of AI and ML models integration experience
• Experience with high-load systems (>1M active users)
• Experience with other programming languages and frameworks.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
• Understanding of DevOps principles and practices, experience with Docker.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Previous experience in a start-up environment.
