Security Engineer

Keydev is on the lookout for a Security Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Keep our infrastructure secure — including Linux servers, Kubernetes, pfSense firewalls, VPNs, AWS, and Google Cloud.
• Use Infrastructure as Code tools (like Terraform or Ansible) to automate how we set up and manage security tools.
• Set up, manage, and monitor security tools like EDR, SIEM, and vulnerability scanners.
• Investigate security alerts, review logs, and support any incident investigations or forensic work.
• Check and improve firewall rules, network setup, and access controls.
• Make sure systems are hardened, up to date, and follow secure configuration standards.
• Work with other teams to review infrastructure designs and identify security risks.
• Plan and run vulnerability scans, and suggest ways to fix or reduce the risks found.
• Help track company assets and who has access to them.
• Give input on security tools and solutions to help the business stay secure while moving forward.
• Encourage good security practices and help build a strong security culture across the company.
• Help with choosing and setting up new security tools when needed.
• Support PCI DSS audits and compliance efforts.
• Keep security documentation clear and up to date.

• Good experience with Linux systems and container tools; knowing Kubernetes is a big plus.
• Solid understanding of networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
• Familiar with Infrastructure as Code (like Terraform or Ansible).
• Able to write basic scripts using Bash or Python.
• Strong communication skills — able to explain things clearly and work well with others.
• Organized, proactive, and able to handle multiple tasks without getting overwhelmed.
• Comfortable talking to both technical and non-technical people.
• Understanding of common security best practices and how to apply them in real-world environments.
• Genuine interest in cybersecurity and a desire to grow in this area.
• Comfortable speaking and writing in English.
