The IT company Andersen invites an experienced Data Engineer to work on a large-scale project for one of our UAE customers.

The customer is a leading company specializing in digital solutions and services for the maritime industry. It aims to optimize and enhance shipping processes by offering a range of products that improve operational efficiency and transparency. The project is a comprehensive digital solution for managing maritime documentation, automating processes from agent appointments to final payments. It improves operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and cost management, while also supporting communication, information sharing, vessel support, and payment services.

Responsibilities:

Integrating generative AI solutions, including LLMs and AI-driven workflows, into existing backend platforms.
Developing and maintaining robust APIs to facilitate seamless communication between AI models and backend services.
Collaborating closely with backend developers, architects, and product managers to identify integration requirements and technical constraints.
Optimizing and troubleshoot AI integration points for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Implement testing strategies and maintain documentation for AI integrations, ensuring clear understanding across technical teams.
Continuously monitoring deployed AI solutions to identify opportunities for enhancements and improvements.

Must-haves:

Experience in relevant fields including data science and AI for 3+ years.
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or other relevant fields.
Proven experience integrating AI solutions into production-grade backend systems for 1+ years.
Strong programming expertise in Python, with practical experience in developing and deploying generative AI applications.
Hands-on experience implementing and fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs).
Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) methods and agentic workflows.
Ability to evaluate model performance, troubleshoot integrations, and optimize AI-driven systems.
Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control (Git) and automated testing.
Familiarity with frameworks such as LangChain, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.
Experience developing and maintaining robust APIs and integration points with existing backend systems.
Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience deploying models in containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.

Nice-to-haves:

Knowledge of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
Experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL).
Experience building CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
Coding skills in Java.
