Logistics Team Leader

The Logistics Team Leader manages and trains a team of logistics specialists. Supports the activities of the logistics department and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the team to ensure smooth and efficient execution of business processes. The Logistics Team Leader works closely with other departments to implement strategies, optimize workflows and improve the overall performance of the department. The Logistics Team Leader should not only manage the team but also actively participate in operational activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of operations staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to company policies.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
• Set clear performance expectations, monitor team progress, and conduct regular performance reviews.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity.
• Address any issues or concerns within the team promptly, ensuring effective conflict resolution.
• Work closely with other departments such as sales, finance, customs, local transport, legal and customer service departments to ensure seamless operations across the organization.
• Monitor team workload, ensuring that tasks are appropriately distributed, and deadlines are met.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the team’s effectiveness and the success of operational processes.
• Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
• Address any discrepancies in performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Fulfilling the tasks of senior management.

Skills

• Strong understanding of logistics processes, including transportation by road, sea and air, and managing international shipments.
• Proactive and results-driven approach, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, and other relevant business applications.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or graduate of other related courses.
• 3+ years of related experience or similar role is required.
• Experience in using logistics software and CRM systems.
