Chief Accountant

As the company continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to join the team.

Scope: We are looking for a Russian and English speaking Chief Accountant to join the existing finance team. This is a role that requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills particularly when communicating with partners and internal teams daily. This role will suit someone who enjoys a fast paced and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with Kazakhstan accounting standards and tax legislation
• Prepare and submit statutory financial statements and tax reports in accordance with local regulations
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
• Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies
• Monitor cash flow and ensure accurate financial forecasting
• Ensure timely tax filings (VAT, CIT, payroll taxes, etc.)
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
• Support budgeting and financial planning processes
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff (if applicable)

• ​​​​​​Higher education in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
• Certified Professional Accountant qualification (preferred)
• Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or chief accountant role
• Strong knowledge of Kazakhstan accounting and tax legislation
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems • Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Fluency in Russian required; English is an advantage
• Candidates with a background in travel or hospitality will be preferred
