Andersen is hiring a Data Analyst in Almaty to support core banking services, delivering data insights and analytics that enable scalable digital products and seamless cross-team collaboration.
The customer is a large financial institution serving millions of retail and corporate clients. It combines a broad physical presence with strong investment in digital platforms, mobile solutions, data infrastructure, cybersecurity, and open integrations. Technology is central to improving customer experience and scaling modern banking services.
The project is focused on developing, evolving, and supporting the bank’s foundational services that form the core technology layer for all other teams. This infrastructure enables adjacent units to build and extend their functionality without managing underlying core processes directly.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive analysis of product metrics and cohorts (Retention, LTV, Conversion) to identify growth opportunities and user behavior patterns.
- Designing A/B tests and evaluating their results using statistical methods (p-value, confidence intervals) to support valid decision-making.
- Translating business objectives into analytical hypotheses and dashboards, prioritizing them using frameworks (ICE/RICE), and deriving actionable insights.
- Writing complex SQL queries (window functions, CTEs) to work with large datasets and event logs from the DWH.
- Building data marts and visual reports in BI systems (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to ensure transparency of key product metrics.
- Initiating and controlling the quality of event-tracking implementation to ensure reliable analytics.
- Providing ad-hoc reports and in-depth analysis (including Python) to validate hypotheses and explore factors affecting sales funnels and unit economics.
Requirements:
- Experience as a Product Analyst / Data Analyst for 5+ years.
- Strong SQL skills (JOIN, CTE, window functions).
- Understanding of product metrics: DAU/MAU, Retention, ARPU, LTV, CAC, Conversion.
- Experience with cohort analysis.
- Knowledge of statistics: p-value, confidence intervals, A/B testing, error control.
- Experience working with logs/events data.
- Experience with BI tools: Tableau / Power BI / Looker / Metabase.
- Experience with product analytics tools: Amplitude / Mixpanel / GA4.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets.
- Ability to translate business questions into analytical tasks.
- Understanding of the product lifecycle.
- Ability to identify insights and formulate practical data-driven recommendations.
- Experience prioritizing hypotheses using ICE/RICE frameworks.
- Level of English – from Intermediate and above.
Nice to have:
- Experience working with Python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib).
- Experience in fintech / marketplaces / mobile products.
- Experience working with ML models (churn, propensity, recommendation).
- Knowledge of CDP / DWH (BigQuery, Snowflake, ClickHouse).
- Experience working with event-tracking schemas.
