Tech lead / Foundational Backend Architect for a Roblox holding company

With 250+ live games and ranked among the top 5 Roblox developers, we operate like a startup: lean, fast, and performance-driven.
Now we’re building something new internally - powerful dashboards and systems that help our teams make smarter decisions using real-time analytics and financial data. We’re looking for a Backend Developer who can architect and build the backbone of these tools.

What you’ll do

• Architect and build internal backend systems
• Design scalable data models and services for multi-team environments
• Develop APIs and backend services from scratch
• Work closely with product and business stakeholders to translate real-world workflows into robust systems
• Help shape long-term technical direction — not just implement tickets
• Improve reliability, performance, and clarity of internal data flows

What we’re looking for

• Strong backend engineering mindset with architecture ownership
• Ability to work in ambiguous environments where requirements evolve all the time
• Experience designing systems used by internal teams or analytics-heavy products
• Solid understanding of data modeling, APIs, and system design
• Comfortable proposing & implementing technical solutions — not waiting for instructions
• Self-driven and comfortable in a lean, high-ownership environment
• Strong spoken English (B2+)

Tech stack

• Flexible — choose the best tools for the job
• Current systems use Django, but alternative backend stacks are welcome if they provide measurable performance benefits.

Nice to have (big plus)

• Experience building games or systems on Roblox
• Personal Roblox games or projects
• Startup or small-team experience
• Analytics or financial systems background
