Senior Accountant (maternity cover)
Who will you be working with?
You will join the Finance & Accounting team of the Company’s Kazakhstan branch, working closely with the Chief Accountant, internal departments, suppliers, contractors, and external partners. As part of this team, you will support accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and smooth execution of day‑to‑day accounting operations.
How will you make a difference?
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial and accounting records in accordance with Kazakhstan legislation, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and internal Company policies. You will ensure correctness and completeness of accounting data, oversee primary documentation processing, manage accounts payable/receivable, and provide timely and accurate financial reports.
Your work will directly support the Chief Accountant and the broader Finance function by contributing to internal controls, period closing activities, and inventory results.
What do we want to know about you?
- Higher professional education in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in an accountant role.
- Advanced English proficiency sufficient for understanding and translating documentation and conducting written communication with English‑speaking colleagues.
- Knowledge of Kazakhstan accounting and tax legislation, IFRS, and internal financial procedures.
- Strong understanding of accounting for materials, fixed assets, receivables, payables, and sales principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and accounting automation software (1C, Oracle, etc.).
- Ability to work with internal Company resources and follow internal rules and procedures.

What will your typical day look like?
- Conduct accounting of all financial and business transactions in the assigned area in line with accounting standards and internal procedures.
- Receive, process, and review primary documentation related to payables, receivables, materials, and fixed assets, including scanning and digital archiving.
- Enter primary document data into accounting systems such as 1C and Oracle.
- Prepare and maintain registers of accounts payable and receivable, and ensure accuracy of mutual settlements with suppliers, contractors, customers, and material suppliers.
- Register, analyze, and validate supplier invoices for payment and submit for approval.
- Monitor contract obligations related to supplies and payments; perform reconciliation of settlements.
- Prepare financial reports, tables, and data for cash flows, expenses, receivables/payables, inventories, and other matters as required.
- Participate in inventory counts of materials and fixed assets; prepare turnover balance sheets and purchasing/sales ledgers.
- Contribute to improvement of accounting procedures, chart of accounts, and forms of internal documentation.
