We are an international company specializing in the rental of construction equipment (aerial work platforms, lifts). We are expanding our team in Kazakhstan and looking for a qualified and proactive Lawyer to ensure the legal security and efficiency of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Legal Support for Business: Provide comprehensive legal support for the entire business cycle in Kazakhstan. Draft, review, and finalize commercial contracts and legal documents (lease agreements, service contracts, etc.) in Russian and English.
Dispute Resolution: Independently handle local litigation, arbitration, and other disputes (including debt collection for rental payments). Manage the entire process from case initiation to court hearings and enforcement. Build and maintain relationships with local judicial and state authorities.
Compliance & Risk Management: Monitor and analyze changes in local legislation (corporate, civil, labor, tax law). Ensure full compliance of business operations and employment practices. Develop and implement a risk prevention system, conduct internal compliance audits.
Debt Collection & Accounts Receivable: Actively work on the timely repayment of rent, minimizing bad debts and overdue accounts receivable through pre-trial claims and legal action.
Coordination & Advisory: Manage day-to-day legal affairs, provide consultations to internal departments. Coordinate and liaise with external law firms when necessary.
Other Tasks: Perform other legal tasks assigned by the company related to local operations.
Qualifications & Requirements (Must Have):
Higher legal education (Bachelor's degree or higher).
Valid local license to practice law in Kazakhstan (advocate status or equivalent).
Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience, including independent full-cycle handling of litigation and arbitration cases in Kazakhstan.
Fluent in English – ability to draft legal documents and conduct business correspondence and negotiations independently. Proficiency in Russian is required for local practice.
Strong business acumen, high level of responsibility, and initiative.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Will be a strong advantage (Preferred):
Previous work experience in an international company or a law firm serving foreign clients.
Experience in the construction, industrial, or equipment rental sectors.
Knowledge of English and Russian.
