IFTA Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly IFTA fuel tax reports

• Collect and organize mileage data from ELD systems

• Gather and verify fuel purchase data from fuel cards and receipts

• Allocate miles and fuel by jurisdiction (states)

• Perform basic data reconciliation and identify discrepancies

• Maintain organized records and supporting documentation

• Assist with filing reports and tracking submission deadlines

• Support responses to routine tax authority inquiries

• Help prepare documentation for IFTA audits

• Communicate with internal teams to obtain missing or corrected data

• Follow established procedures and compliance guidelines

Key Requirements

• High school diploma or Associate’s degree required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is a plus

• At least 1 year of experience in accounting, compliance, or administrative roles is a strong advantage

• Basic understanding of accounting or financial records

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to trucking, logistics, or fleet operations

• Familiarity with ELD systems or fuel card data (training will be provided)

• Internship or coursework in accounting or finance
