The Partners Matters Lead is a transformational HR leadership role with strategic accountability for shaping and driving the vision, structure, and priorities of partner and director career lifecycle management across the CCA region. This position defines the long-term roadmap for the Firm’s leadership talent strategy, translating global KPMG requirements and international trends into regionally relevant practices.
Operating as a key member of the executive leadership team, the role combines thought leadership, cross-functional influence, and execution oversight. It is expected to proactively challenge the status quo, set new standards, and champion forward-looking solutions that enhance leadership experience, performance, and succession resilience at the most senior levels of the Firm.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership of the Partner & Director Agenda: Set and own the strategic direction for the entire career lifecycle of partners and directors — from nomination and onboarding to development, engagement, and exit, ensuring alignment with the firm’s values, ambitions, and future leadership needs.
- Change Leadership and Innovation: Assess and reshape existing models (when necessary), proactively introducing new frameworks, processes, and programs that reflect global KPMG mandates and leading market practices. Act as a catalyst for cultural and structural evolution of the partner group.
- Leadership Development Strategy: Design and oversee an integrated leadership development architecture (360° feedback, Hogan, LDCs, coaching, executive education, succession planning) to build a future-ready partner and director population. This includes developing tailored Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and providing Learning & Development (L&D) initiatives to equip Directors and Partners with the necessary skills. The strategy also involves monitoring progress to ensure alignment with business objectives and leadership expectations, while offering administrative support for coordinating training courses and workshops, ensuring smooth enrollment and tracking.
- Governance & Policy Stewardship: Define, endorse, and monitor implementation of governance frameworks and policy standards covering performance management, promotions, health & well-being, equity and inclusion, and leadership compliance.
- Talent and Rewards Architecture: Lead dialogue with Legal and Finance on partner/director contracts, reward models, taxation, equity, and long-term value alignment. Ensure transparent, fair, and motivating compensation practices that meet both business and compliance expectations.
- Executive Advisory: Act as a strategic sparring partner to the Managing Partner and Business Unit Heads, advising on sensitive partner and director matters, and influencing high-stakes decisions related to performance, succession, and structure.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing virtual network across Legal, Finance, L&D, Tax, Risk, and Compliance functions to deliver an integrated leadership support ecosystem.
- Regional & Global Alignment: Serve as the regional voice in the global Partner Matters network, advocating for CCA interests and contributing to the design and rollout of firmwide initiatives.
