Accountant in Cyprus

About the role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing full-cycle bookkeeping, ensuring compliance with local taxation requirements, and maintaining accurate financial records across multiple entities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple entities, including accounting and payments
• Ensure compliance with Cyprus taxation requirements (VAT, Payroll, VIES)
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements, as well as other accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Manage accounts payable and receivable reconciliations
• Collaborate with the accounting team to prepare and maintain financial reports
• Post and process journal entries to ensure accurate recording of transactions
• Collect and verify invoices, receipts, and other financial documents, ensuring proper upload to the server and accounting system
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and issue resolution
• Perform other ad-hoc tasks and duties as required

Qualifications:

• 2–5 years of experience as an Accountant or Senior Accountant
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing)
• Solid understanding of accounting and reporting standards(IFRS/GAAP); IT industry background is a plus
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
• Great attention to detail and accuracy in financial records
• Comfortable working with large volumes of data and turning numbers into insights
• Confident user of MS Office and Google Sheets; experience with SAGE or
• QuickBooks is a plus
• Fluency in English; Russian is an advantage
