Senior Legal Counsel (IP)/Ведущий Юрисконсульт

Yandex is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its international legal team, focusing on regulatory and compliance issues in Central Asia and the MENA region. You will advise on evolving laws in digital services, data protection, IP, and cybersecurity, helping align our business with complex regulatory environments. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of law and technology, collaborating with cross-functional teams and shaping scalable legal frameworks for Yandex’s global operations.

Tasks that await you

Strategic legal guidanceYou will provide strategic legal guidance on regulatory, compliance, and public policy matters impacting Yandex’s operations in Central Asia and beyond.

Analysis and interpretation of legislationYou will analyze and interpret evolving laws and regulations affecting digital services, data protection, content moderation, cybersecurity, and intellectual property frameworks.

Collaboration and risk managementYou will collaborate cross-functionally with global legal, public policy, engineering, and product teams to address regulatory challenges and ensure business alignment. In addition, you will proactively manage legal risk and develop scalable legal frameworks for our services worldwide.

We expect that you

Have at least 5 years of PQE, including time at a leading international law firm or IT company

• Demonstrate profound understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to the tech sector (data privacy, IP, digital markets)
• Have advised on cross-border legal issues and regulatory engagement, especially in Central Asian jurisdictions
• Possess excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills in both legal and business contexts
• Are fluent in English and Russian
• Have in-house counsel experience at a tech or digital platform company
• Thrive in a fast-paced and multicultural environment
• Think strategically and address legal issues with pragmatic, effective solutions
