Key Responsibilities
1. Career Guidance and Coaching
· Deliver one-to-one and group career guidance sessions tailored to individual student needs.
· Support students in identifying career goals, building action plans, and navigating job search strategies.
· Advise students on CVs, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and interview techniques.
· Ensure advice is inclusive, culturally aware, and relevant to both Kazakhstani and international job markets.
2. Careers Education and Employability
· Design and deliver employability skills workshops and career development sessions across all faculties.
· Contribute to embedding employability into the curriculum through collaboration with academic departments.
3. Internships and Industry Experience
· Coordinate and monitor the delivery of structured internships for all students, ensuring each student has access to meaningful, supervised work experience every academic year.
· Work closely with the Corporate Partners and academic departments to source, secure, and match students to internships aligned with their academic discipline and career aspirations.
· Track student participation, performance, and employer feedback to ensure quality and continuous improvement.
4. Employer Engagement and Opportunities
· Support the promotion of job vacancies, internships, graduate programmes, and volunteering opportunities to students.
· Maintain knowledge of local and regional labour market needs to inform careers guidance.
· Encourage student participation in employer networking events, guest speaker sessions, and alumni mentoring schemes.
5. Data Management and Reporting
· Collect, update, and maintain accurate data on student engagement, guidance appointments, internship placements, and graduate destinations using internal systems.
· Analyse data to inform strategic planning and continuous improvement of careers services.
· Contribute to regular reports, KPIs, and impact assessments for internal and external stakeholders.
6. Careers Events and Projects
· Contribute to the planning and delivery of careers fairs, recruitment drives, employer panels, and themed careers weeks.
· Help develop and maintain digital careers resources and ensure current, accessible, and engaging online content for students.
Person Specification
Essential:
· A degree or equivalent qualification.
· Experience in careers guidance, student support, HR, recruitment, or related roles.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage a diverse student body.
· Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly for data collection and tracking.
· Understanding of local and global employment markets and trends.
· Fluent in English; working knowledge of Kazakh and/or Russian is desirable.
Desirable:
· A postgraduate qualification in careers guidance (e.g., QCG, QCGD, or equivalent).
· Experience working in higher education, especially within an international context.
· Familiarity with CRM systems or career services management software (e.g., TargetConnect, CareerHub).
· Understanding of the UK Higher Education employability agenda and internships best practices.
Working Conditions
· Full-time role based at DMUK’s Almaty campus.
· Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during peak periods or events.
