Position Summary

Apola Finance Limited is seeking a highly qualified Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial management and strategy of the Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with AIFC Acts, IFRS standards, and applicable legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, while maintaining robust financial planning, reporting, and control processes.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial and Departmental Management

General management of the Finance Department and oversight of all financial operations;

Distribution and supervision of responsibilities among finance team members, ensuring optimal workload and efficiency;

Introduction and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures;

Ensuring compliance with labor safety, discipline, and internal company policies;

Timely correction and elimination of deficiencies identified during internal or external audits.

2. Financial Planning and Reporting

Development and monitoring of the Company’s budget and financial plans;

Preparation of accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with IFRS, AIFC Acts, and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

Provision of operational data on the Company’s financial position and results;

Preparation and submission of regulatory reports to AFSA, the National Bank of Kazakhstan, and the State Revenue Committee;

Implementation and review of accounting systems and automation of accounting processes.

3. Compliance and Internal Control

Ensuring internal control over financial and accounting functions in accordance with AIFC requirements and internal policies;

Oversight of prudential compliance with AFSA regulatory requirements;

Ensuring the Company’s accounts and financial statements are examined, audited, and filed in a timely and compliant manner;

Coordination of external and internal audit procedures;

Upholding high standards of professional ethics in financial management.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or an MBA;

Experience: Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in the finance sector (banks, investment companies, or other financial institutions);

Knowledge:

Financial, civil, labor, and administrative legislation of the AIFC and Republic of Kazakhstan;

IFRS accounting and financial reporting;

Risk management, labor organization, and personnel management principles.

Professional Reputation: Impeccable business reputation, demonstrated integrity and professionalism, and absence of an unspent criminal record;

Certification: A professional qualification in accounting or finance (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent);
