Legal Specialist

About the Position:

KT&G Global Kazakhstan is looking for a Junior Legal Specialist to join our Compliance team in Almaty Kazakhstan. This role will shape internal regulations, tackle real-time legal challenges, and gain hands-on experience with contracts, audits, and litigation in dynamic legal environments in FMCG.

What You will Do:

• Manage Bylaws and internal regulations.
• Provide legal advice (opinion) on various issues related to the company’s activities.
• Respond to legal issues which are arising in progress of business operation, including lawsuits.
• Report on the status and results of legal issues.
• Review, update and prepare agreements, PoA and other legal documents.
• Analyze general practice, the practical conclusion and execution of contracts, summarize the results of claims work with the object of the accusation, and develop proposals for their elimination.
• Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risks.
• Monitor and analyze legislation, Weekly Legal report preparation.
• Manage executed contracts (updating period, terms and conditions etc.) and register on GIP - Objectively assess a company’s IT and/or business processes.
• Budget planning and payment proceedings in the system.
• Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans.
• Provide necessary reports on time.

What We Are Looking For:

• Degree in Law from a leading Kazakhstani or foreign university.
• At least 1 – 3 years’ experience, preferable with a multinational company.
• Knowledge of KZ legislation: civil, business, corporate, data privacy, private international law.
• Fluency in English and Russian (both written and oral) is obligatory, Kazakh – is preferable.
• Understanding of Business ethics principles.
• Ability to work with large information scope.
• Good communication skills and attention to details.
• Ability to switch quickly from one assignment to another, multitasking skills.
• Self-motivation and analytical mindset.

Working conditions

• This position is full time regular job and is supposed to 8.30 am – 5.30 pm.
• Work location is Almaty city and can have business trip if necessary.
• The organization structure may change depending on the growth of the KT&G Business, and the position and duties may be raised accordingly.
