Kindergarten Teacher Job Description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Kindergarten Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe learning environment where young children can develop social, emotional, cognitive, and physical skills. The teacher will implement an engaging, play-based curriculum aligned with the Maple Bear methodology and foster a love of learning in each child.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Classroom Management & Instruction
• Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons that support early childhood development.
• Foster a child-centered, play-based learning environment.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Use interactive and hands-on teaching methods to encourage curiosity and exploration.
2. Child Development & Well-being
• Monitor and support children’s emotional and social development.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
• Encourage positive behavior through appropriate classroom management strategies.
3. Assessment & Communication
• Observe, document, and assess children’s progress.
• Communicate effectively with parents through regular updates, parent-teacher meetings, and progress reports.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support children’s learning and development.
4. Collaboration & Professional Development
• Work as part of a team to create a warm and supportive school culture.
• Participate in professional development sessions to enhance teaching practices.
• Contribute to school events, activities, and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
• Experience working with young children in a classroom setting.
• Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching young learners.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with play-based learning approaches.
• Familiarity with the Maple Bear curriculum or bilingual education models.
• First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
