Position summary:
Education/ critical competences: High School diploma/G.E.D. equivalent
Preferred qualifications: Work experience 2-4 years
Reports to: Director of Finance
Key relationships: Internal: All Departments
Key relationships: External: Court (rarely) and government institutions, Vendors
Critical competences:
Knowledge of contract law, basic finance principles
Operation procedures and document circulation;
Rules of communication with debtors and creditors;
Production and labor organization;
Knowledge of legal requirements involved with contracts
Familiarity with accounting procedures
Excellent writing and computer skills
Keen attention to detail, with an ability to spot errors
Possesses superior attention to detail in order to spot inconsistencies in contracts
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers and external partners
Able to work productively independently and as part of a team
Must have excellent analytical thinking skills and problem solving abilities
Should exhibit strong organizational and time management abilities
Essential job function:
Develop contract proposals to support organizational goals
Review contract estimates, including proposed materials, production costs, etc and determine whether they seem reasonable and accurate
Follow-up with the contract renewal.
Negotiate contract terms with internal and external business partners
Review and update existing contracts
Review and maintain contract list
Evaluate new business partnerships with vendors and subcontractors.
Explain terms and conditions to managers and interested parties
Ensure that employees understand and comply with company contracts
Analyze potential risks involved with specific contract terms
Stay up-to date with legislative changes
Ensure all deadlines and conditions described on contracts are met (e.g. payments and shipping)
Maintain organized system of physical and digital records
Create language standards for existing and new contracts
Write contract letters and other communications, notices and notifications
Analyze contracts to ensure they comply with state and federal laws and regulations
Represent the company in legal proceedings.
Design and oversee the company’s policy and position on legal matters.
Protect the company against legal risks and violations.
Examine the legal issues related to new products and services.
Negotiate deals on behalf of the company.
Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
Communication:
