Accountant

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing all financial and accounting transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets, reconcile bank statements and calculate tax payments and returns ultimately, provide management with accurate quantitative information on financial position, liquidity, and cash flows of the business, while ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

- Prepare, examine, and analyse accounting records, financial statements, profit and loss statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting and procedural standards.
- Report organization's finances to management and offer suggestions about resource utilization, tax strategies and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
- Make timely tax and government levy payments, social insurance allocations, allocation of financial funds dedicated to salaries of employees and other relevant payments.
- Track and perform accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Maintain records and receipts for all daily transactions with special focus on purchase orders (3 way matching)
- Provide Finance Controller with the most adequate level of accruals for each closing.
- Represent company at the taxing authorities and provides support in the case of litigation involving financial issues.
- Act as a key point of contact for other departments on financial and accounting matters.
- Follow instructions of the immediate Supervisor on all kind of the matters related to the main purpose and duties of the Accounting function.
- Ensure protection of interests, non-disclosure of confidential information and documents to the third parties;
- The job description is not exhaustive and may assume additional tasks within the competence of the incumbent.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CMA) certification is a benefit;
- MBA is a benefit.
- Prior experience in cost analysis, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, local taxation.
- Proficiency in Uzbek, English and Russian languages.
- Excellent computer skills including MS Office.
- Proficiency in SAP.
- Knowledge in IFRS

Experience specifications:
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of relevant experience in Accounting.

The total budget of the project is 185.4 million euros, of which 142 million euros will be disbursed through loans from leading European banks - the funds will be used to modernize urban water supply and improve their management in accordance with the highest international standards.

- Upgrade Tashkent water public service to an international standard
- Bring the experience of SUEZ, introduce modern technologies, equipment and software to improve the management of drinking water supply and sewage system in the city of Tashkent
