WordPress Developer

Andersen, an international IT company, invites a WordPress Developer to work on a large-scale project. The role focuses on creating and maintaining corporate websites.

The customer is dedicated to providing innovative and reliable products and services across the Middle East and Africa. It offers a wide range of consumer electronics, B2B solutions, and life solutions, aiming to enhance the quality of life and business operations for its customers. The company continues to introduce advanced, energy-efficient, and health-focused products, supported by an extensive service network spanning more than 30 countries.

The project is focused on the development and long-term maintenance of corporate websites for external clients, along with ongoing support to ensure stability, security, and up-to-date functionality.

Responsibilities:

• Developing WordPress-based websites from scratch or using existing themes.
• Building and customizing WordPress themes and plugins.
• Integrating with third-party APIs, forms, analytics tools, maps, etc.
• Optimizing website performance, security, and SEO readiness.
• Maintaining and supporting existing websites: fix bugs, apply updates, manage caching.
• Participating in deployments to dev/stage/prod environments (with DevOps support).
• Working with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira): read, comment, and update tasks on time.

Must-haves:

• Commercial experience with PHP and WordPress for 2+ years.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS (SASS/SCSS), and JavaScript (vanilla or jQuery).
• Experience with custom theme and plugin development (without builders like Elementor).
• Solid understanding of WordPress architecture: WP_Query, hooks, filters, CPTs.
• Experience working with REST APIs (including WP REST API).
• Ability to deploy and configure WordPress projects locally and on hosting (wp-config, .htaccess, database).
• Experience with Git.
• Experience working with bug-tracking/project management tools like Jira.
• Level of English – from Intermediate and above.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience with WooCommerce, ACF, WPML, or similar plugins.
• Basic SEO awareness (meta tags, heading structure, canonical URLs, sitemap).
• Experience supporting production WordPress environments.
• Familiarity with performance tools (e.g., Google Lighthouse, PageSpeed).
• Knowledge of caching strategies (WP Super Cache, W3 Total Cache, server-level caching).
