KONAR Industrial Group is seeking the Technical Director – Head of Cryogenic Valve R&D Department.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and manage activities of technical and production divisions within KONAR Industrial Group with regard to cryogenic valves (matrix management)
- Lead the existing technical department of KONAR-Orion LLC, a subsidiary company producing valves (direct management)
- Establish and lead a new design division – Cryogenic Valve R&D Department in KONAR JSC (direct management)
- Lead and oversee ongoing R&D activities for adoption of cryogenic valves into production (design, material selection, raw materials, suppliers, production and testing procedures) in KONAR Industrial Group
- Analyze incoming Customer Technical Specifications (CTS)
- Develop Technical Task Sheets (TTS) for KONAR Industrial Group and its Technological Partners (both Russian and abroad)
- Analyze engineering solutions and verify design documentation for compliance with TTS and CTS
- Adapt the design documentation developed by the Technological Partners to the manufacturing capabilities of KONAR Industrial Group
- Identify methods for standardizing and optimizing product design to reduce production costs and timelines
- Develop and revise proprietary design documentation
- Develop and revise engineering documentation related to the product (such as technical specifications, safety validations, test procedures, technical passports, operating manuals)
- Provide full support for production of prototypes and already mastered products.
- Process technical quotations: develop, execute, agree and approve technical proposals and drawings
- Prepare for production: ensure availability of testing equipment (including cryogenic test bench), train personnel in testing and quality control, establish production processes, and identify localization opportunities based on in-house capabilities and Technological Partners in Russia
- Order execution: arrange interaction and coordinate order technical part with external and internal departments involved in production, oversee and monitor order execution by the production workshop
Requirements: - Experience as a senior technical executive (Chief Technical Officer, Chief Process Engineer, Chief Mechanical Engineer, with regard to piping/static equipment) at a single enterprise for at least 5 years
- Total experience in the specified field of at least 15 years, preferably at a large enterprise or industrial holding, with an understanding and experience in matrix project management, collective responsibility and decision-makin
- Expatriates with experience working abroad (at operational LNG plants and in cryogenic equipment manufacture) or in international companies/projects in Russia are highly welcomed
- Education: higher engineering education, preferably specialized in cryogenics; international education (e.g., Mechanical Engineering) is an advantage
- Comprehensive understanding of LNG processes and cryogenic valves – working conditions (temperature, pressure, materials, valve types and trim parts options)
- Knowledge of Unified System for Design Documentation, GOST/ASME/API/ASTM standards, industry-related valve standards (including for cryogenic valves, such as GOST 34294-2017, GOST 12.2.063, ISO 28921-1:2013, ISO 21011, BS 6364, MESC SPE 77/302 and SPE 77/200)
- Understanding of the cryogenic valve manufacturing process
- Strong skills in arranging activities and managing production
- Strategic vision, team organization, clear task-setting and control, work planning and reporting, operational management, rapid decision-making and personal accountability for results
- Pedagogic skills for transferring technology and training employees in technical areas.
- Mandatory: fluency in Russian and English (at least B2, preferably C1-C2); knowledge of Chinese is an advantage.
