Senior Copywriter

About the Role
We’re looking for a freelance Senior Copywriter with strong technical acumen and the ability to craft engaging, high-quality content for a software engineering audience. You’ll produce original, well-structured articles according to provided technical tasks and collaborate closely with the head of content.

Responsibilities

• Write 1–2 high-quality, original articles per week according to detailed briefs and technical requirements.

• Ensure all work meets deadlines — our content pipeline is interconnected with designers, SMM, and content managers.

• Apply SEO best practices: keyword placement, heading hierarchy, content structure.

• Maintain a tone of voice that balances engaging, human, and professional.

• Use AI tools responsibly: you may use AI for drafting or research but must remove obvious AI patterns (e.g., “In today’s dynamic landscape…”, “it is not X — it is Y”, “it is more than X — it is Y”, “whether X, Y, Z…”, “from X — to Y…”).

• Be available for communication between 11:00 and 17:00 Moscow time, while working from anywhere and on your own schedule.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional copywriting experience, ideally in technical, SaaS, or software engineering topics.

• Proven ability to write for a technical audience (portfolio required).

• English proficiency B2–C1 or higher.

• Familiarity with SEO basics: keywords, headings, and structuring articles for search visibility.

• Strong sense of responsibility for meeting deadlines.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience writing about load testing, DevOps, QA, or related topics.

• Understanding of US tech market content style and preferences.

Test Assignment
All shortlisted candidates will be given a real technical task from our current content pipeline.

• The topic will be an actual planned article with real SEO and editorial requirements.

• If your test assignment meets our standards and you are selected for the role, we will publish it on our website and pay you for it as a regular article.
  

Articles will be evaluated according to:

1. AI Editing Quality – how effectively obvious AI-generated phrasing and patterns are removed.

2. Technical Depth – detailed and accurate information, approachable for the reader without becoming a wall of code.

3. Adherence to Technical Task – how closely the brief was followed, including SEO requirements (keywords, headings, meta, links).

4. Tone of Voice & Structure – consistent, human, and professional tone with logical flow.

5. Clarity & Readability – clear explanations without oversimplifying or overcomplicating.

6. Factual Accuracy – correct use of technical terms, data, and examples.

7. Formatting & Presentation – proper use of headings, lists, and formatting for easy reading.

8. Deadline Compliance – ability to deliver within the agreed timeframe without sacrificing quality.
