Cargo Operator

Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Cargo Operator to join our oil trading operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution and end-to-end coordination of physical oil and petroleum products cargoes — ensuring that all contractual, logistical, and regulatory aspects of each trade are managed efficiently and with minimal risk.

You will work closely with traders, shipping teams, counterparties, terminals, and inspection companies to ensure timely and accurate delivery of cargoes under sales and purchase agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and execute all operational aspects of physical oil and petroleum product shipments (e.g. crude, diesel, fuel oil, jet fuel, gasoline, etc.)

• Manage vessel nominations, laycan confirmations, loading/discharge operations, STS transfers, and documentation flows.

• Liaise with shipping agents, terminals, inspectors (e.g. SGS, Intertek), brokers, and owners to ensure smooth cargo operations.

• Prepare, check, and distribute shipping documentation: Bills of Lading (B/L), Letters of Indemnity (LOI), NOR, ullage reports, cargo manifests, etc.

• Monitor vessel schedules, terminal availability, and coordinate cargo readiness with suppliers and receivers.

• Track and reconcile cargo losses, product quality, and volume discrepancies with counterparties and inspectors.

• Calculate and follow up on demurrage / despatch claims and liaise with demurrage analysts and chartering desks.

• Ensure compliance with all contractual terms, Incoterms, and international regulations.

• Maintain accurate records and provide regular updates to traders and internal stakeholders regarding cargo status and potential operational risks.

Requirements:

• 3–7 years of experience in cargo operations within an oil trading company, major, or shipowner involved in oil logistics.

• Strong understanding of physical trading contracts (SPAs, CPs) and shipping logistics.

• Familiarity with incoterms, laytime, demurrage, STS operations, inspection protocols, and documentation workflows.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.

• Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus.

• Proficiency with MS Office; experience with trading/logistics software (e.g., IMOS, Veson, SAP, Allegro, etc.) is a plus.

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

• Расчет и ведение документации по демерриджу/диспачу, взаимодействие с аналитиками и чартеринг-департаментом.

• Контроль за соблюдением условий контрактов (включая Incoterms), а также нормативных требований.

• Ведение отчетности и информирование трейдеров и внутренних подразделений о статусе поставок и возможных рисках.

Требования:

• Опыт работы от 3 до 7 лет в роли Cargo Operator-а или аналогичной позиции в нефтетрейдинговой компании, у трейдера или судовладельца.

• Глубокое понимание физических контрактов (SPA, CP) и логистики морских перевозок.

• Знание Incoterms, laytime, demurrage, STS-операций, процедур инспекции и документооборота.

• Отличные организаторские способности, умение работать в условиях многозадачности и сжатых сроков.

• Свободное владение английским языком (письменным и устным); знание других языков — преимущество.

• Владение MS Office; приветствуется опыт работы с логистическими/трейдинговыми системами (например, IMOS, Veson, SAP, Allegro и др.).

• Стрессоустойчивость, высокая степень ответственности и внимание к деталям.
