Release engineer

Netcracker Technology Corp. (an NEC company), a large software development company and leading provider of OSS/BSS Solutions (incl. Telecommunications Operations and Management Solutions), has an opening for Release engineer:

Responsibilities:

• Ability to work according to instructions, strictly follow the process
• Support, management, control of changes in the configuration using internal tracking systems and tools
• Setting up configuration files of build systems (Maven, Ant), stored in various version control systems (SVN, Git, IBM Rational ClearCase)
• Executing branching processes in version control systems (SVN, Git)
• Carrying out and controlling the merger of source code in branches when using parallel development and performing related operations (conflict resolution, informing the team, analyzing errors)
• Formation of assemblies of various types (Dev, QA, Integration) using internal tools, issuing prepared assemblies to various levels of testing
• Setting up Jenkins tasks that ensure automatic formation of assemblies and their installation on internal servers
• Checking and analyzing errors in the logs of preparation and installation of assemblies on various types of servers (Dev, QA, Prod)
• Maintaining up-to-date accompanying documentation (information portal, installation instructions)
• Interaction with other departments to control development life cycle processes (discussion and agreement on issues requiring joint decisions)
• Prioritization of tasks, competent and timely provision of information on the progress of work to technical managers and developers"

Requirements:

• Higher technical education
• 1+ years of experience as a developer/QA/RE;
• Basic knowledge of XML and SQL technologies
• Advanced knowledge of tools (Apache ANT, Apache Maven)
• Advanced knowledge of version control systems (SVN, GIT), tools (TortoiseSVN, TortoiseGit, GITLab)
• Basic knowledge of Continuous Integration systems (Jenkins)
• Experience with tracking systems (JIRA)
• Knowledge of methodologies and approaches to development processes
• English (written and spoken) Intermediate or higher level

Would be a plus:

• Knowledge of OSS/BSS solutions;
• Enterprise software, telecommunications or call center background;
• Experience of the project or service management;
• SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Database; reading and writing SQL queries;
• Unix knowledge (at least on a confident user level);
