Juru is seeking a Junior Biodiversity Specialist. The position is ideal for a motivated early-career professional who wants to develop practical skills in biodiversity assessment, fieldwork, data management, and report preparation.
This position is based in Tashkent. Only candidates currently residing in Tashkent will be considered.

Key responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning and execution of biodiversity field surveys, including species identification and habitat condition assessments;
- Support data collection, data entry, and preliminary analysis under the supervision of senior team members;
- Help develop biodiversity-related documentation such as species lists, survey forms, field logs, and summary tables;
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, maps, and figures for biodiversity assessments and ESIA deliverables;
- Support compliance monitoring activities (e.g., PCFM, breeding bird surveys, tortoise relocation) by assisting with logistics and fieldwork;
- Coordinate with GIS and other team members to ensure integration of field biodiversity data into project systems;
- Participate in stakeholder engagement and environmental awareness activities, where relevant;
- Undertake desktop research on species, habitats, and national or international conservation requirements.
Key requirements:
- A degree (or final year student) in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field;
- Up to 2 years of experience (internships or academic fieldwork acceptable) in biodiversity or environmental monitoring;
- Basic knowledge of regional flora and fauna of Central Asia is desirable;
- Interest in developing skills in biodiversity assessment and environmental consulting;
- Experience with field data collection (GPS, notebooks, basic identification guides);
- Basic GIS skills (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS) or willingness to learn;
- Good written and verbal communication skills in Russian and/or Uzbek;
- English at intermediate level or higher (reading and contributing to reports);
- Attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to work in remote field conditions;
- A collaborative mindset and readiness to learn from senior experts.
