MEP Engineer

Your role at Construction:

As an MEP Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing and evaluating the design and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems throughout all phases of the project. Your role involves supporting decision-making by ensuring that technical solutions are aligned with the project’s budget, schedule, quality standards, and long-term operational objectives. A key aspect of your responsibility is to protect the project’s interests through proactive technical review, risk assessment, and continuous oversight.

You will be:

• Assist the Chief Engineer in all technical aspects of the project lifecycle — from design review to construction and commissioning.
• Review and assess MEP design documentation developed by third-party consultants to ensure completeness, regulatory compliance, technical efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
• Support in preparing technical comments, comparative analyses, and value engineering proposals for decision-makers.
• Facilitate communication and alignment between main contractors, design consultants, and subcontractors on MEP matters.
• Evaluate contractor proposals and technical submissions for compliance with specifications and project goals.
• Monitor construction progress, quality of installations, and adherence to approved technical documentation.
• Participate in technical inspections, testing & commissioning, and acceptance of MEP systems.
• Support site supervision and technical audits, identifying and tracking non-conformities or risks.
• Maintain logs, reports, and structured technical records for stakeholders.

The ideal candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP engineering.
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, project delivery processes, and construction phases.
• Understanding of regional and international codes and standards.
• Proven experience working with main contractors and coordinating with architectural, structural, and engineering teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Revit/BIM is a plus).
• Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and coordination skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced development environment.
• Good command of English (written and verbal), especially for technical documentation and business correspondence.
