As a Junior Reservoir Engineer, reporting to the Senior Reservoir Engineer in our Almaty office you will play a key supporting role in our subsurface team. You will help analyze field performance, update reservoir models, and support production optimization and development planning efforts. You will work closely with experienced engineers and geoscientists to create value in new and emerging assets across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and updating reservoir simulation models using TNavigator software for initially three gas fields, later 2 oil fields.
- Analyze production, pressure, and injection data to assess field performance and support optimization plans.
- Support reserves estimation and reporting in accordance with international (SPE-PRMS) and local Kazakh standards.
- Contribute to the design, analysis, and interpretation of well tests and production logging data.
- Participate in field development planning and reservoir management strategy formulation.
- Monitor well performance trends and recommend improvement actions to the operations team.
- Prepare technical reports and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively across disciplines (geology, drilling, production) in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- 3 years of experience in a reservoir engineering or production-focused role.
- Familiarity with reservoir simulation tools and data analysis techniques
- Basic knowledge of field development planning and production forecasting.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with a proactive and hands-on attitude.
- Fluent in Kazakh and Russian; proficiency in English is highly desirable.
- Willingness to work in dynamic field environments and travel to operational sites when needed.

- Exposure to local fields or technical projects within the Western Kazakhstan region.
