- Monitor industry trends affecting material and equipment costs
- Track commodity price indices relevant to EPC projects
- Research supplier market conditions and competitive landscapes
- Collect pricing benchmarks from industry sources and databases
Analytical Reporting
- Generate regular market intelligence briefings for procurement teams
- Create dashboards showing price trends and market conditions
- Provide detailed analytical reports on specific procurement packages
- Prepare variance analyses explaining price differences
Anti-Corruption Functions
Collusion Detection
- Identify patterns that might indicate bid rigging or price fixing
- Compare bid prices across vendors to detect suspicious alignments
- Analyze historical bidding patterns from recurring suppliers
Price Verification for Control
- Serve as an independent check on prices accepted by procurement teams
- Flag unusually favorable terms that might indicate impropriety
Provide objective price benchmarks to detect potential corruption
Knowledge and Experience
- Understanding of marketing research principles and market analysis
- Experience working with suppliers and understanding procurement specifics
- Knowledge of the competitive environment and industry trends (construction or relevant sector)
- Experience in collecting and processing data from various sources (including primary and secondary research)
- Skills in conducting competitive analysis and supplier evaluation
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in data collection tools (surveys, interviews, online platforms)
