What You’ll Do
As a Senior Lecturer in Religion Studies, you will design and deliver a fully online course for Bachelor's Degree students. Your responsibilities include:
During course development:
Creating structured and accessible self-paced content across an 8-week curriculum
Designing auto-graded quizzes for each week/topic
Creating a final knowledge-check quiz with multiple variants (min. 40–50 questions)
Developing a detailed 8-week Session Plan / Lecturer Guide, including a pre-exam consultation
Preparing engaging presentation slides with embedded online quiz elements
During course delivery:
Delivering 8 weekly engaging learning and practical online sessions, fostering active student participation
Assessing student contributions and providing timely feedback
Maintaining academic integrity and inclusivity within the virtual classroom
Utilizing Microsoft Teams and SharePoint for communication and resource sharing
Participating in end-of-course meetings and reporting on student performance
What You Have
A solid understanding of major world religions, sacred texts, and philosophical movements
The ability to facilitate critical discussions on the role of religion in societal issues, including extremism, ethics, and intercultural understanding
Experience with online teaching methodologies and digital learning tools to create an intellectually stimulating course environment
Required Qualifications
Master's degree or PhD in Religious Studies, Philosophy, Theology, Sociology, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching in higher education
At least 1 year of experience teaching in online environment
English proficiency at B2 level or higher (C1 preferred)
Nice to Have
Knowledge of religious contexts in Central Asia or experience with interfaith dialogue
Awareness of international frameworks on anti-extremism and religious tolerance
Proficiency with modern e-learning tools (e.g., Mentimeter, Miro) to enhance student engagement
Technical Requirements
Reliable high-speed internet connection
Laptop or PC with webcam and microphone
Quiet working environment suitable for teaching
