What You’ll Do

As a Senior Lecturer in Religion Studies, you will design and deliver a fully online course for Bachelor's Degree students. Your responsibilities include:

During course development:

• Creating structured and accessible self-paced content across an 8-week curriculum

• Designing auto-graded quizzes for each week/topic

• Creating a final knowledge-check quiz with multiple variants (min. 40–50 questions)

• Developing a detailed 8-week Session Plan / Lecturer Guide, including a pre-exam consultation

• Preparing engaging presentation slides with embedded online quiz elements

During course delivery:

• Delivering 8 weekly engaging learning and practical online sessions, fostering active student participation

• Assessing student contributions and providing timely feedback

• Maintaining academic integrity and inclusivity within the virtual classroom

• Utilizing Microsoft Teams and SharePoint for communication and resource sharing

• Participating in end-of-course meetings and reporting on student performance

What You Have

• A solid understanding of major world religions, sacred texts, and philosophical movements

• The ability to facilitate critical discussions on the role of religion in societal issues, including extremism, ethics, and intercultural understanding

• Experience with online teaching methodologies and digital learning tools to create an intellectually stimulating course environment

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Religious Studies, Philosophy, Theology, Sociology, or a related field

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching in higher education

• At least 1 year of experience teaching in online environment

• English proficiency at B2 level or higher (C1 preferred)

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of religious contexts in Central Asia or experience with interfaith dialogue

• Awareness of international frameworks on anti-extremism and religious tolerance

• Proficiency with modern e-learning tools (e.g., Mentimeter, Miro) to enhance student engagement
