The IT company Andersen invites an experienced Data Engineer to join its team for working with a company from Portugal.
This position requires on-site in the Lisbon office, but we are also open to considering candidates from other countries.
The customer is a leading motorhome rental company, operating across Europe, North America, and Oceania. With over 7,000 vehicles and a presence in more than 70 cities, the company is committed to providing top-quality RVs, campervans, and motorhomes through a seamless and personalized online experience. The company is known for its digital innovation, dedicated customer support, and 24/7 roadside assistance.
The project focuses on developing robust systems for data collection, management, and transformation, converting raw data into actionable insights for the data team and key business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, building, and maintaining efficient and scalable data pipelines.
- Developing innovative tools and frameworks to enhance the data platform.
- Fostering a data-driven culture across the company.
- Collaborating closely with data scientists and analysts to deliver actionable insights, forecasts, and optimization strategies.
- Establishing and maintaining data quality standards across the organization.
Must-haves:
- Experience in Data Engineering for 5+ years.
- Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases including PostrgreSQL.
- Familiarity with a technology stack that includes experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Redis, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Chef, and Terraform.
- Experience in setting ETLs on AWS (Glue, Athena).
- Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals such as algorithms, asynchronous and multi-threaded processes.
- Prior experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, QuickSight, Metabase, Power BI).
- Experience working with or implementing data pipelines, from ingestion to serving, with technologies such as Kafka, Postgres, S3/GCS, Spark, and Databricks/Snowflake.
- Level of English – from Intermediate+ and above.
