HR Compliaence manager

Role Purpose:
To ensure full compliance of HR processes and practices with local labor legislation in Cyprus, Malta, and Bulgaria; to localize corporate methodologies to regional requirements; to mitigate legal and operational risks; and to serve as a key regional contact for GDPR compliance and EU labor principles.

Key Responsibilities:
➢ HR Process Audit and Legal Expertise:
- Ensure legal compliance of all HR operations with labor laws in Cyprus, Malta, and Bulgaria.
- Collaborate with HR Managers, HR Operations, and line managers to mitigate HR-related legal risks.
- Conduct regular reviews and audits of HR documentation and processes (hiring, transfers, terminations, etc.).
- Identify gaps and legal violations, and propose corrective measures.
- Monitor changes in local legislation and provide practical guidance for HR and business stakeholders.
- Participate in and lead, where appropriate, employer-side actions during audits or inspections by labor, social security, or immigration authorities, in collaboration with Regional HR, Head of HR Compliance and Legal.
➢ Methodology Localization and Implementation:
- Adapt corporate HR methodologies to the legal frameworks and practical realities in the respective countries.
- Support the rollout of performance evaluation, goal-setting, and feedback processes in line with EU labor norms.
➢ Vendor and Regulatory Relations:
- Oversee the legal compliance of contracts with local HR service providers.
- Evaluate provider performance and ensure alignment with internal HR Compliance standards.
- Communicate with external partners and local regulators as required.
➢ Legal Awareness and HR Training:
- Identify areas of legal uncertainty and risk in HR practices.
- Develop and deliver training programs in collaboration with L&D for HR and people managers.
- Contribute to the creation of e-learning modules on local labor law.
➢ Personal Data Protection and GDPR Compliance:
- Audit HR processes for compliance with GDPR and relevant national privacy legislation.
- Participate in data protection assessments, process security checks, and system-level reviews.
- Coordinate efforts with the company’s DPO and internal IT/data privacy teams.

Work format:
➢ Office-based: Sofia OR Limassol (Cyprus)

Candidate Requirements:
➢3+ years of experience in HR, HR operations, legal HR, or compliance.
➢ Strong legal (labor and migration) knowledge in at least one of the three countries (Cyprus, Malta, Bulgaria) and familiarity with the others.
➢ Deep understanding of GDPR and practical experience in ensuring HR data compliance.
➢ Experience working with outsourced providers and dealing with regulators.
➢ High English proficiency (C1 or above) is mandatory.
➢ Ability to work across cultures and jurisdictions, acting as a reliable business partner.
➢ Strong risk awareness, communication skills, and a solution-oriented mindset.
