(Senior-) Research Scientist in Multiphase Flow Modelling

The Laboratory for Digital Modelling of Multiphase Systems in Oil and Gas Industry led by Prof. Sergei Boronin of Project Center for Energy Transition and ESG at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Moscow, Russia) has open position for a Research Scientist / Senior Research Scientist in mathematical modelling of multiphase flows as applied to development of technologies of oilfield services and energy transition including well drilling and cementing, hydraulic fracturing, fracture cleanup, and geological gas storage. The work will be carried out in the framework of joint industrial research projects in collaboration with oil and gas companies. A candidate is expected to contribute both to research (development of mathematical models and their implementation into research codes; publishing results in peer-reviewed high-ranked scientific journals) and innovation (development of new technologies on the basis of mathematical modelling, preparation of patent applications).

Requirements:

• A PhD degree (or Candidate of Sciences degree, or an equivalent) in a relevant area;

• Strong knowledge of the continuum mechanics and numerical methods;
• An experience in development of research codes in C/C++;
• Experience with modeling of multiphase flows is a strong plus;
• Knowledge of English language as it is a working language at Skoltech;
• Strong publication record in fluid mechanics (applicants for Senior Research Scientist position).
